  • Think critically, solve problems, and lead change.
  • Gather evidence to disrupt the conventional wisdom.

When I asked if he'd prefer to connect on other socials than reddit he said, “Will fake account work? I will create a dummy one, let’s not share real ID okay? Sorry just trying to be little safe side, I hope you didn’t mind.”

I climbed the stairs and entered the shop as a person was crouching and inspecting coffee beans. When he realized I had entered, he stood up and welcomed me, asking how he could help.

Hari (12 years old, never attended school) mentioned in one of our conversations that his father was very proud the day he handed him his first earning. “I will never forget how proud Baba looked when he took that money and he said I have now become a man. That was the best day of my life.”

The Door Phoolmaya Never Opened

This morning, she saw her husband crouched near the alcohol room. His scars around the knees were healing. Cindera was ashamed of what she did, but still it didn’t change the way she felt about him. She had really wished if he had rather died.

It was 2 pm when his monitor rang an alarm. The plateau of his heart line was falling flat quickly, without a pause or regard for the efforts that had been made till then. His family had consented to a DNR, Do Not Resuscitate, beforehand and did not allow us to revive him.

Our Mission and Vision

Knowledge

The Open Institute for Social Science is a member-driven academic community. We believe that high-quality social research will be the substance of a more innovative, more compassionate, and more equitable world. To get there, we are searching for new and better ways to practice our craft.

People

The Open Institute for Social Science is an academic cooperative. We own no property, we generate no profits, and we have no employees. Very little of our work is centrally planned. Instead, our projects are driven by the passions of our membership, who coordinate and lead their social scientific efforts on our common platform.

Change

The Open Institute for Social Science is an independent center of academic excellence, committed without compromise to local and international best practices. Though we aspire to be a resource to the worlds of policy and development, we are financially autonomous and thus free to be a very different kind of voice.
